Company History

Humble Beginnings
Founded in 2004 by Thomas (Tom) Brink and his nephew Ross Veltema, Top Grade Site Management (TGSM) began as a small excavation and grading company serving the farming community of West Michigan.
With one bulldozer and a shared vision to help local farmers, their reputation for quality work quickly fueled steady growth.

Expanding into Aggregates
As the business grew, Tom and Ross recognized the need for reliable sources of sand and gravel—essential materials for nearly all construction projects. To meet that demand, they launched Top Grade Aggregates, LLC (TGA), creating a network of aggregate sites that provide contractors and homeowners with high-quality sand and gravel products throughout West Michigan.
To help preserve natural resources, TGA added asphalt and concrete recycling to its operations. Using advanced crushing equipment, they convert old materials into recycled aggregate products, offering an eco-friendly alternative to natural stone and gravel.

Transport and Delivery
With a full fleet of trucks, Top Grade Transport (TGT) provides efficient aggregate hauling and delivery services across West Michigan — from Holland and Saugatuck, east to Ionia and Portland, north to Cadillac and south to Battle Creek and Kalamazoo.

Today
Based in Hamilton, Michigan, Top Grade is a full-service construction materials company offering excavation, aggregates, concrete/asphalt recycling, and transportation solutions.
